Having recently dished out on a snazzy tripod camera stand, all black and shiny and sturdy and nifty and nice, it's fairly annoying that the world should be covered with slippery ice to such an extent that I hardly dare take the camera when I venture outside for fear of falling and breaking the thing. Looks like it's gonna be a little while yet before I'll get the chance to put this three-legged creature to the test.
There will be more pictures coming soon enough anyway, though - I have plenty waiting in the archives.

New dawn arising!
So, after much trepidation, I finally went ahead and bought myself a new camera - a snazzy new Canon EOS 50D. Only the camera house, though; I already have a 28-90mm lens from my old analogue EOS 300, and opted to try that one out for a while to save on expenses. From what I hear, using an old lens on a newer digital camera comes with some technical issues, some of which I have already discovered. Oh well, the drawbacks are few and far between in comparison to the joy of taking pictures again.
The 1000+ pictures I've taken during the last week-and-a-half also means that I am likely to be more active on dA again. New dawn indeed!
Portfolio expanded: pin-up photographer
Not much has happened in the creative part of my mind since early spring. I'm still writing stuff almost every day, but nothing suitable for release here yet.
This Sunday I had an interesting experience, though; I was hired in as photographer for a pin-up calendar! So that was one night filled with exhilaration and naked skin galore. Don't worry, my girlfriend was present; I behaved nicely in front of these nubile young women, and due to good lighting and a great camera, the shoot went smoothly and with some good results. I don't think the girls will allow me to put any of the pictures up here, though; tough luck!
Old deviations all over again (sorry, folks!)
Listening to: Mahavishnu Orchestra - Earth Ship
Reading: Palmer/Colton/Kramer: A History of the Modern World
Watching: Old Tom & Jerry shorts
=(
I've been unhappy about the sizes of my Trondheim Skies images since I submitted them. I mistook the "upload preview" button to mean that you have to upload previews of all image files, and failed to notice that this was only applicable for gif and png files. When I discovered I'd made that error, I found that it wasn't possible to simply delete the preview file! Since I felt like uploading bigger full view versions anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to delete the old ones, and upload them
My world got flattened
Listening to: Bob James: Nautilus. Damn, what a smooth track.
Reading: Susanna Clarke: Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Haven't found the time to finish it yet. :(
Watching: The Thin Red Line - again.
I acquired a flatscreen this week; a sleek, sexy, 19 inch thing. Suddenly I am aware of how crappy my old monitor was. It also occurs to me that the photos I've posted have suddenly become much brighter, which means I shall probably have to rebalance the brightness levels in order to fit my new outlook on the web. Also, I can suddenly see that ~herrTevik's "Vortex" is actually more than an impenetrable, black mass. :)
